The recipients of funding are typically graduates, though undergraduates are also encouraged to apply, and often represent top universities (though unique cases are also encouraged to apply), and have established an emphasis or concentration of studies central to sustainability, environment and business. Recipients are able to:
- clearly demonstrate both their ongoing aptitude with studies related to sustainability, and/or their facility for an equally successful career in the field
- exhibit their unique ability to positively impact business practices and the world, through either entrepreneurship or as a change agent in an organization(s)
- show how their diversity, whether related to income, race, sex, handicap, identity or philosophical perspectives, and so on, has positioned this individual at a disadvantage with regard to financial circumstances, and therefore necessitates the requested allocation of support
If selected, awards may be granted (potentially limited by the availability of funds for the given year) anywhere from a range as low as US $100.00, to as high as US $100,000.00, which is the Fund's lifetime limit for any single recipient. Awards may be distributed in equal installments, as one lump sum, or per request. Awards can be issued for past, current and/or future studies/projects, but the likelihood of being selected for an award, nonetheless at the specified amount, diminishes with distance from the present circumstance(s).
